3. My pyro neighbors who put on an spectacular fireworks display Saturday night

4. The time I got to spend with my husband Saturday night. Just the two of us on the porch, watching fireworks, sipping our beverages of choice. Peeps asleep!

5. The children's book, Little Beauty, by Anthony Browne

6. The fact that every single book Audrey selected at the library had rich, breathtaking illustrations. Perhaps she has the Rydings' artistic gene?

7. Scrubbing bubbles b/c if you gotta clean, make it fun!

9. New friends who allow their son to be subjected to academic torture during the summer so I can get an "A" in my grad class.

Thinking about my brother this week (his big day is July 24th) so I love?.
1. My brother?s strength as a baby and ability to overcome meningitis.
2. My brother?s curiosity (yet the miracle of no long term injuries) looking down the cylinder of a firework with Martha and Mary Schindler!
3. My brother?s luck at ?winning? John?a live chicken from an Elementary School science class. It was fun raising John in the ?city? until he/she was donated to the Storyland Zoo.
4. My brother?s candid response??not another girl!? upon learning of the birth of his third sister.
5. My brother?s sense of loyalty to a good friend who was ?under the weather? and paying the consequences rather than risk his friend driving impaired.
6. My brother?s spirit of adventure and driving two hours away to a David Lee Roth concert and then telling the parents he would be a little late that night !
7. My brother?s moral integrity and telling the temporary agency he could not take another assignment that involved distributing free cigarettes in the impoverished areas of our town.
8. My brother?s perseverance and conquering his fear of swimming and competing in his first triathlon during his fourth decade.
9. My brother?s competitive spirit and rededication to playing ice hockey which led to a tournament in Toronto.
10. My brother?s renewed confidence in the ability to find true love and forging a new relationship with a wonderful and amazing person.
I love you both Joe and Melissa and can?t wait to toast your continued happiness on the 24th!!

The simpleness of my little country church. No big production or tv cameras. Just simple praise and worship.

. . . that my 3 y.o. can honestly tell me he's sorry, when he is, w/o being prompted anymore - complete with juicy kisses and too-tight hugs
. . . that my 6 y.o. tells me I'm the best mom in the world - just because I'm her mommy (see if that changes in the next few yrs)
. . . that my hubby can give me a break to *regroup* when he gets home so mommy can function as an adult again
. . . that I can get in touch w/old friends on FB - especially w/my HS reunion coming up next month
. . . that my parents don't mind seeing us more than once a week
. . . that cousins are having new babies so we don't have too!
. . . that giant dark chocolate bar hidden in the freezer that mommy & daddy only know about!
. . . that I'm not the only one w/a Zac Effron crush!
